Does any one know how many extra tickets are given out for each screening. For example, if the theater will seat 100 people, how many tickets will they given out.

Depends
It depends on how popular the movie is. For something like Ironman, it will be very low because a lot of people will want to see it. If its for an independent film, they will release more tickets because so many people take tickets but don't show up.

It depends. Alot of the passes give out usually say theatre is overbooked to ensure a full house. Usually a few rows, 3 or 4, are reserved for press and other VIP's. But most screenings I have been to are over booked.
