It makes sense but Chicago does not enjoy it
They will seed or do buzz marketing in places which would appear to have less audiences. Chicago I think is sophisticated enough to watch an artsy movie without the help of free previous. I hate to say what I have noticed in the past. I went to Florida, to a flea market, and the previously viewed action movies by Arnold and Stallone were priced higher than the artsy movies. It says something about the locale.

I cannot believe it!
I came to request the free tickets on the 18th, and the movie was sold out. Now, I come on the 21st, and the same story happens. I have the feeling this will happen every time I try to request a ticket. ABSOLUTELY UNFAIR!

Burn After Reading
I didn't receive my pass from this site but I also was shut out of the Burn After Reading movie. People attending had passes from various radio stations but a vast majority were college students and they had facebook passes plus they had time to get there really early. I consider myself fortunate to attend so many screenings so if we don't get in we usually buy tickets to see a movie we haven't had time to see.

Burn After Reading
I got a pass for "BURN AFTER READING". Altho I arrived like 1.5 hours BEFORE the film was to start, I never saw it because the theater was around 100% OVER-booked & I (& hundreds of others) were never let in! I understand that venues are regularly overbooked, but normally it's like 10% over-- not 100% over! No other passes were offered to anyone left out-- we were simply told sorry, please LEAVE. It's time-consuming & expensive to come downtown, park, etc., especially when it's all for NOTHING. The film company (Focus) or its agent should be ASHAMED at the unconscionable level of this overbooking & the treatment of those so unnecessarily disappointed.

Sold out before it started?
I kept refreshing the page and when the zero minute came, I got the SOLD OUT status. It makes no sense. What a waste of time.
