Jennifer's Body is Best Vampire Movie EVER
Whereas Megan Fox is the high school slut to die for, literally, she is brilliantly overshadowed by Amanda Seyfried in every way. Megan Fox merely turns into a vampire in a cleverly unique way. But Amanda turns from mousey tag-along to stunningly sexy babe and heroine who increasingly steals scenes from Megan as the story progresses. FANTASTIC MOVIE! I love it! Puts all other dark, drab, vampire movies to shame. All the special effects were outstanding. The storyline is first rate. Plenty of gore for vampire fans, but it's so much more than just that. There are lots of goryier movies, but none better than Jennifer's body. Also the best, most sensuous girl-on-girl kissing scene ever. And there was even occasional humor that blended in perfectly. One man got up and left the instant the credits started. Poor guy missed 15 or 20 violent crime scene photos which added a whole new chapter to the story that had only been hinted at in the movie and brought a satisfying closure to the plot. Thoroughly entertaining even if you don't like vampire movies.

The Burning Plain
THE BURNING PLAIN is a great movie. It started in the New Mexico border town of Las Cruces, a housewife, Gina (Oscar-winner Kim Basinger), embarks on a passionate affair. They died in an abandoned trailer in a fire accidentally set up by Gina’s daughter, Mariana (Jennifer Lawrence). Mariana then met Mariana Santiago (JD Pardo), the son of Gina’s lover. They find love in the aftermath of their parents’ sudden deaths. Due to their parents’ opposition, they escaped to Mexico. After Mariana had a baby girl, Maria, she abandoned Santiago and Maria, escaped back to US, changed name to Sylvia (Oscar-winner Charlize Theron), became a restaurant manager. Twelve years later, Santiago was injured when his small plane crashed while working as a crop dropper. His best friend took Maria to find her mother. Sylvia, a.k.a. Mariana, finally stopped escaping and reunited with Santiago. The emotional journey Mariana went through was very powerful and moving. My only complaint was that the two actresses playing Mariana at different ages, Jennifer Lawrence and Charlize Theron, do not quite look like the same person.

September Issue
Enjoyed movie tonight at Balboa Park, great location for this movie! Which was filmed in lots of fabulous locations and great history sites. Similar to "Devil wears Prada" only with the real life characters! ANNA makes it clear she is in charge. Thanks FilmMetro!

Extract Excellence
Plenty of adult laughs provided by a wide assortment of interesting characters and hilarious situations. Extremely well put together in plot development, casting and acting. Definitely worth paying to see if you missed the screening. No nudity, violence or excessive profanity to justify the R rating, but leave the kids home due to the adultery and drug abuse themes that were played for maximum humor which therefore sidestepped any moral considerations.

Please post your 2 cents for this movie. Good, Bad, or just plain ugly? I saw a lot of hype at Comic-Con this year about it.
