Twelve More Comments on District 9
This page isn't the only set of comments on the movies. Apparently we are supposed to locate the particular movie listing itself (under "Movies" or any other way such as Movies you have seen) and then click on "Comments" in the top menu or "Recent Comments" shown below the description of the movie. Either way, you get to 12 more comments, some loving District 9 and some hating it. None of those comments are listed here. None of our San Diego Comments are listed there. Those 12 are probably people from other cities, or San Diegans who post there instead. We wouldn't see their comments here and they won't see ours there unless we post them for the particular movie. Also, look for comments to other people's comments here if you care about the topic.

District 9
Overall good movie. The Documentary style shooting was pretty good and the aliens, all of them CGI by the way, were pretty amazing to look at. Loved the way they interacted with the locals and tried to fit in. The Apartheid Message , although minor, was interesting. Made you think a bit but don't get me wrong this was a terrific Sci-Fi movie. In my opinion movie is a bit overhyped but it was by far the most interesting movie this summer. Weta Digital is simply amazing and for 30 million bucks it puts all of the summer blockbuster to shame.

District 9 Screening AMC Palm Promenade
The reason why it didn't seem like there were a lot of people is because the first 100+ people were inside the theater in line already. My take on District 9 was disappointing. ..it was slow at first and then picked up as it got into the middle of the movie. The special effects and CGI looked awesome but the storyline was a bit weak. I didn't hate it but I didn't love it. If you do check this movie out, see it at a matinee.

thanks Film Metro tech support / District 9
Thanks guys for responding so quickly to my (and others') requests today to fix the San Diego board. It is much appreciated ! We can share once again ! Board has been having posting problems for several weeks now - hopefully this one holds ! Looking to hear general District 9 review for those who DID get in - good or bad ? Worth paying for ? Thanks ! I saw "Time Traveller's Wife" - interesting concept, sappy execution, but it had it's moments.

district 9 - AMC Promenade 24
:-( didn't get in. got there at 6:05 for a 7:30 showing. missed getting in by about 10 people, should have got there at 6. There were hundreds of peeps behind me. They had to have booked this in a small theater as it seemed only 80-100 peeps got in. bummer

Ponyo
Ponyo was a great Family Movie! It was funny and the drama was just right. I esp. loved how the landscape mimicked Japan so well. Thanks Filmmetro!
