i went to the preview last night, wonderful movie. what gets me mad is that there were tons of open seats. adam was screening 3 times in buffalo and were all sold out as soon as they were posted. i was lucky enough to get my tickets from a different site, but there were still plenty of free seats. if you reserve passes, please use them or release them to people that truly love movies and want to go.

Going into the movie I was expecting it to me somewhat like Independence Day. After 15 mins in...I was like oh no what kind of movie is this but once the plot kicked in overall I enjoyed it and so did everyone else because I heared it made number 1 at the box office :-)

Hey Spike, thanks for your well written and insightful critique of District 9. I agree on all points. I would like to suggest that before people attend any advance screening they familiarize themselves with that movie's story by-line, and with its rating status. Seriously, it's such a drag to sit in the theater near a free pass user who makes it obvious they don't want to be there. To borrow a local business tag-line: An educated consumer is Film Metro's best customer! See you all (or at least the backs of your heads) at the movies...

I would definitely agree, not for anyone under 13....because it's rated R. However for mature adult audiences you'll find an excellent film. I loved it, probably in my Top 10 of the year so far, it's pretty much exactly what Summer movies should be. Socially relevant and thoughtful on issues of racism, xenophobia, how we conduct wars and foreign affairs, emotionally powerful, and the most thrilling CG action setpieces I've seen in ages.

to continue my critique: It was extremely gory, very very bloody and graphic violence. Lots of action but I wouldn't reccomend it to any but the strong of stomach.

Saw it tonight. I felt it was definitely not a movie for anyone under 13 possibly older even. It was narrated for the first 20 minutes or so (BORING)
