slumdog millionare screening
What time are people showing up, and when did it get sold out? The earliest I can get there is 6:30-6:45, and I'm not sure there will be room left..

San Diego 2008 = Los Angeles 2007
San Diego is the new Los Angeles. Look at their upcoming events; The Wrestler and TWO showings of Valkyrie! Meanwhile, Los Angeles gets the premiere for Milk pulled! Also, as far as I'm concerned, Orange is not Los Angeles. We need more events and world premieres!

Got to the screening about an hour before...hardly anyone there...screening was about 3/4 full...enjoyed film, but the print looked a little too dark

how early to arrive
went to a 7:30pm free screening a few weeks ago. got there an hour early and there was a line around the block. i asked the first person in line what time they had gotten there. "3pm" they were willing to wait 4 1/2 hours standing in line!! i did get in and found my favorite seats - way in the back.

problems with screening
Seems the biggest problem is that more and more people go earlier and earlier to be in line, and the comment on screening cards to get there an hour early is way off base for the popular films

Landmark
Sorry to hear about what happened with the W screening. But during the Ghost Town screening, everything worked out fine. Got there a few hours early, got directors name cards, and were among the first group to get in. Hopefully the Slumdog Millionaire screening won't be as disorganized as W, but am looking forward to Slumdog.

LA screenings are usually at the Landmark, which did a terrible job of running W. People who had gotten there 2 hours early didn't get into the show, and weren't informed until the very last minute. I'm hesitant to go out of my way to see Slumdog Millionaire if people are going to receive the same treatment.
