| I got a pass for "BURN AFTER READING". Altho I arrived like 1.5 hours BEFORE the film was to start, I never saw it because the theater was around 100% OVER-booked & I (& hundreds of others) were never let in! I understand that venues are regularly overbooked, but normally it's like 10% over-- not 100% over! No other passes were offered to anyone left out-- we were simply told sorry, please LEAVE. It's time-consuming & expensive to come downtown, park, etc., especially when it's all for NOTHING. The film company (Focus) or its agent should be ASHAMED at the unconscionable level of this overbooking & the treatment of those so unnecessarily disappointed. |

| you can't complain because your ticket tells you that it's overbooked and your ticket does not guarantee a seat. you took a gamble and you lost. get over it. you should not be compensated because you were already informed that it was overbooked and come on, you knew that movie was going to be packed with people. Get over it and try again next time. |

| On the contrary, that's very much a legitimate complaint.
There's a right way to do this and a wrong way to do this. It's absolutely unnecessary to overbook by over 100%. There is no benefit to anyone, but rather only negative consequences for hundreds of people.
Do you think the studios, theaters and agents want to anger 100s of people each free screening? That's not exactly the positive "word of mouth" they're looking for from their preview screenings.
There's no doubt overbooking by 100% or more is bad business for everyone, and the organizers need and want to hear the negative feedback if that's the case. |

| I think you should be ashamed of yourself. You get upset and mad over FREE tickets? I understand if you were complaining if you actually paid for the tickets but come on...
Imagine for a second, back when Star Wars Episode 1 was being released. People were waiting outside movie theaters for weeks (not hours) to guarantee themselves to be one of the first people in the theater to see the movie. There are other really big hype movies that people get in line to go see hours before and they don't get in. I had gotten a free ticket to go see the Matrix before it came out. It was like the second or third premiere before the movie was coming out. It had already gotten great reviews by pretty much everyone. I really wanted to see it, and was in line at about 3pm for this 7pm movie. I was the last person in. The rest of my group couldn't come in, and I had to sit in the front row. I still loved the movie. |
