Go Speed Racer Go
I'm actually very excited about this. My brother and I were avid fans of Speed Racer in the early 70's. Anxious to see who's playing Trixie. The previews I saw looked great. Please bring preview to Salt Lake City, Utah!!!!

Speed Racer in San Diego, CA
I just saw a screening for Speed Racer in San Diego last night and really enjoyed it. The movie does a great job capturing the bright, fast-paced essence of the cartoon. Oh...and it was a PACKED showing...see, we need more screenings in San Diego! :)

Speed Racer Screening
I just saw a screening for Speed Racer in Philadelphia and I must say it was well worth it! The storyline and of course drifting is the bomb! I took my brother for his birthday.....and that screening was packed! No joke! Enjoy everyone!

uneven story telling hits many speed bumps
Have to say that this film was a disappointment, through no fault of any of the actors. The actors did an amazing job with what they were given by the writers and directors. Most of the visuals were stunning. The problem was the breaking of pace & momentum with lugubrious backstories & annoying out takes. The Wachowski's should have been even bolder & used split screens, so that the given race at hand was never interrupted by these detours. A very near miss from clearly attainable excellence.

Speed Racer in San Francisco
Saw it last night in San Francisco. As a fan of the cartoon, I loved it. I hadn't seen any previews so I did not know what to expect and I was pleasantly surprised. It was just like watching a live version of the cartoon. The cast was great and a real chimp to play Chimchim. I agree that in certain spots there should have been a split screen, but overall I an satisfied.

I was able to see Speed Racer at a screening in LA about two weeks ago. The theater was packed and right before it started, in walked Emile Hirsch and John Goodman. What a surprise. I went in thinking the movie would be so-so, but came out rooting for speed racer. The movie did an excellent job of building up the audience to support Speed. Spritle and Chim Chim were funny and I found myself laughing at their cheesy jokes/scenes. Also, the movie was fast. I didnt have time to blink because so much was happening. This is a great movie for kids (minus Spritle's middle finger). Overall, Speed Racer is a great ride of a movie. I'd highly recommend it for families.

My grandson loved the movie and he was only 5. The movie was O.K. The storyline was O.K. but it could have been better.
