Great for the Kids
I took my 11 y/o grandson to a screening back in June and we both loved it. Although the 3-D effects weren't as good as I had hoped, all in all it was still a great movie. It was entertaining and my grandson got a little history lesson to boot. It made me remember what it was like for me at 11 y/o when I saw Neil Armstrong walk on the moon and how excited I was. That got us both talking about how far space exploration has come. I definitely recommend this movie.

We loved it!
I took my kids to this screening (ages 5 & 7) and we all loved it. We thought the 3-D was awesome - from the beginning as you panned through the grassy, swampy area, to the times when bugs and rockets were flying toward you face. Very cool! And I agree with another comments that the history was a great aspect of the movie. Fun and cool movie.

I'm sorry but I thought this was the worst children's movie I've ever seen.

IT discussed compulsive eating, dieting, grandpa's love for vodka, the TV station was DCUP---if the movie is for children and adults can enjoy it too, then why spoil it with adult topics. Children grow up too fast, and they need to have a chance to be just kids. I wasn't the only adult there who thought that. My husband and I are school bus drivers, and my friend who happened to be there with several children is an artist who works for schools for free to teach art literacy--we all love children. Yes, I remember the moon flight--my husband is too young, but not me. That was an exciting time, but the other stuff, and the fake romance between grandpa and Nadia was not necessary. Someone missed the boat when they could have told a great story.

I enjoyed this movie so much I saw it twice! So many movies geared towards children are completely finctional, but the historical storyline was interesting and the references to the side effects to obesity were well stated without sounding like a lecture. There was just enough aduld humor to keep parents entertained too.
