| Tom Cruise leads an all-star cast in this suspenseful tale of espionage during WWII. The acting is superb, the direction well-paced, this should be the hit Cruise needs to get his career back on track. |

| Except for the fact that somtimes it is hard to understand the dialogue, the movie is very well made. It is riveting as well suspenseful. It is great to see a movie of WWII without too much gore! |

| Ok guys - whats up here? The website crashes for the last 10 minutes before ticket release and comes back at the last minute - and then NO tix available at all???? How can it be sold out the first second? This is insulting to stay up late and fight the website and find out we have almost NO chance of actually getting tix! You either need to offer MORE tix or have a different format to actually GET the tix! LOVE the screenings! HATE the hassle to try to get them! UGH |

| Great movie. Fantastic cast. Tom Cruise does not ruin this movie like I was worried he would. Historically accurate and engrossing. A must see. I guess I am a little surprised it is a Christmas movie but at least there will be something good in the theater on the 25th. |

| This is an excellent film - and what a turn around for Tom Cruise! This picture is mature and thrilling! My heart was racing the last 2/3rds of the film! I had forgotten my history so was enthralled watching the story unfold - its extremely well done and well worth all the hasle trying to get tix! Its powerfull, educational, and gut wrenching! WELCOME BACK MR CRUISE - this is the kind of film I love you for! |

| This a very interesting movie. Very somber and educational but in an intensely good way. First movie that I've ever been to that not even one person got up during the entire movie. That said, most of the theater was fill with folks 40 and above. I'd recommend it. |

| Great movie, great cast. Definitely entertaining and suspenseful. This film gives you a better historical understanding and overview of this last of 15 known attempts on Hitler's life. It changed my outlook on Nazi Germany. I recommend it. |

| I knew I probably wouldn't care for Valkyrie, as Tom Cruise has lost his luster for me. However I will admit he is a fine actor & did a great job with this fact based film. I was never aware of the movement by Germans to rid themselves of Hitler, so that was fascinating. I guess I would have liked this film better if Jude Law was in it, he's an obvious choice to portray a Nazi officer. Perhaps Tom didn't want any competition. This isn't my genre of film and some eye candy would have kept me awake through more of this tale. |

| Excellent film. Tom Cruise has his usual outstanding performance despite learning a new language for the part. This much I expected, what I didn't see coming was the equally overwhelming performances by both Bill Nighy (General Friedrich Olbricht) and Tom Wilkinson (General Friedrich Fromm). The supporting cast adds to the stoicism and discipline of the German Army amid a film that follows a man strong enough and willing to stand up to Hitler himself for the good of Germany. This film is heavy on the emotional side, but is a must see!

| Viewers Beware:Valkyrie contains few actual Valkyries
|
| I am a rather famous historian of Norse Mythology. I have had several volumes of of collected mythological poems from the mid-to-late 1800s published under the pseudonym Johnny JonJon as well as a critically well received book of literary criticism of poems and stories on the subject of the Valkyrie. You can imagine my excitement when I learned the great Germaan theater artist Herr Cruise would finally bring his classic stage play based on this noble deity to the screen. Unfortunately interference from the major Hollywood studio funding the film has shifted the focus of the project so that very little of Valkyrie is actually congruent with Norse mythology. For Shame. One of the major changes from Cruise's original vision is the altered ending which no longer involves a swarm of Valkyries tearing the 'Hitler' character from limb to limb. The Homo-erotic themes however remain intact, and we still get that marvelous scene where Goebbels is invited into the 'Wolf's Den'. |

| My wife thought it was depressing the way it ended however I told her that the movie industry has brain-washed people into thinking that every situation has to end on a good note. What happened is what happened. I thought it was very suspenseful - throughout. |

| After phonetically memorizing a handful of lines of opening dialog in Deutsch, Cruise gets to Vulcan mind-meld with the audience in California English for the rest of the film. To be fair, the whole ensemble's accented English was all over the map, literally. The film raises many plausible questions about how the attempted coup might have succeeded if *all* of the conspirators had von Staufenberg's relentless and steely resolve. One too many chicken poops ruined his intricate broth. And, it's always a very bad sign, that a film has lost its audience, when several people are snoring more loudly than the surround-sound, shake-you-in-your-seat crescendos that are liberally sprinkled along the course of the story. Several of the sleepers didn't awaken even for those rumblesome moments. Where The Curious Case of Benjamin Button didn't seem nearly as long as *three hours*, Valkyrie felt like it was much, much longer than its actual two. This film is not a complete disappointment, but it is not nearly as good as some others think it is. My bet is that, this season, Defiance will be the far more credible and more moving WWII story "based on true events." |
