How soon would you say is the ideal time to wait for an upcoming movie screening before logging in to request for free movie passes?

I saw last Friday an announcement that we could request screening passes for this movie starting June 16, 2008. I opened this site early this morning, and the movie is already sold out. Can you explain what is the deal here?
